Thissimply means that it determines when you sleep and wake. Thepineal gland, whichis located at the back of the brain, releasesmelatonin when you are in a darkplace. This takes place mostly at night, thereby inducing sleepiness.

Melatonin is an anti-oxidant.
There are certain rascalelectrons in the body called free radicals.These free radicals are orphaned electronsthat are no longer attachedto atoms. What they do is that they move aroundcells and create muchhavoc as they go in your tissue, skin and organs.Anti-Oxidants are thecops that police the freeradicals by reducing theeffects of oxidation that produces these freeradicals.
