I developed insomnia when I was a teenager.My parents became extremely religious and tried to scare me into being good by letting me read some crazy stuff about the end of the world.

Needless to say, I got pretty messed up.That's when insomnia started for me.It used to help me getting up at the same time every day (early.)But then that stopped working.I tried taking Melatonin which is a natural sleep enhancer.That never really worked for me.Maybe if I had taken it more consistently it would have.About 3 years ago I tried Unisom and Simply Sleep (and their generic versions.)The ingredient is benedryl, which is given to everyone, so it's safe.I take 1 Unisom or 2 Simply Sleep pills and within an hour I'mdrowsy.As long as I get a full 8 hours of sleep I don't feel drowsy in the morning.One word of caution, however.It seems like it's very easy for me to get hooked on these and "need" to take it every single night.As I know this is probably unhealthy, I try not to take the pills too often.But it just seems very habit-forming to me.My fiance does take them every single night.I notice that he increases his doses often, needing more and more to get the same effect.Then I yell at him and he says he'll "cut back."Scary, right?I think they're a great tool, but know that they can be addictive and use caution with how often you take them.A lot of times I'll take them on a Sunday night to help me get back into a regular sleep rhythm.This really seems to be the best method for me.Good luck!
